The Oktoberfest takes place in Munich from 16 September – 3 October 2017.
The iconic Oktoberfest represents the pinnacle of Munich’s annual event calendar. Guests from near and far flock to this mega event, the world’s biggest folk festival. Traditional costume associations and folk music bands and formations from all corners of Europe will be ringing in the over two-week long festivities. From the Maximilianstrasse to the Theresienwiese, visitors will be dancing, celebrating, making music and of course drinking beer. Some Munich breweries even brew a special festival beer. And smooth beer can only be washed down with hearty Bavarian delicacies such as Brezeln (pretzels), Schweinshaxen (ham hock), Hendln (roast chicken), Weisswürste (white sausage) and Leberkäs-Semmeln (meatloaf rolls).
