On 26 December 2018, the Christmas swim in Palma de Mallorca takes place. It will now be the ninth time that this event is held in the harbour in Palma.
Christmas swim in Palma de Mallorca
Participants have to swim a stretch of around 200 metres in the cold water which has a temperature of around 15 degrees Celsius. The event starts at 11.00 am at the Muelle de las Golondrinas and the swimmers head towards the Auditorium – Palma’s congress centre. A lively entertainment programme is provided along the route for the spectators and the brave athletes. The key thing at this Christmas event is to join in and have fun. Some of the swimmers turn up in fancy dress and they see the occasion as a test of bravery on account of the temperature of the water.
