Dijous Bo in Inca – autumn market
Majorca is well-known for the countless markets which are held on the island right throughout the year. One of the most well-known of these is the autumn market „Dijous Bo in Inca“. Huge numbers of Majorcans will be found streaming into the centre of the Balearic island to attend the market. Inca is around 30 kilometres away from Palma de Mallorca. But it can be reached quickly, either by car or by train.
Dijous Bo is always held on a Thursday. It has a special tradition dating back to the conquering king, Jaume I, who was supposed to have arrived in the town for the first time on this day. It`s a mixture of agricultural trade fair, market, farmer’s sales show, funfair and playground and all the most renowned names on the island can be found here. It is definitely worth a visit as it gives you a great overview of all the things the island has to offer, above all in culinary terms.
Are you on Majorca for a convention, a conference or a seminar? Visit this traditional market together with your colleagues or other convention participants. It’s a great way to get to know the island and its people and, at the same time, it provides you with a framework programme with real Majorcan flair.
