Every year, France celebrates National Day in style with parties and parades held throughout the country. The festivities commemorate the Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789 and the Fête de la Fédération, held one year later.
The biggest parade is held in Paris on the famous Avenue des Champs-Elysées, followed by a magnificent evening firework display by the Eiffel Tower.
