Magha Puja Day, the traditional festival
This day of veneration commemorates a spontaneous gathering of the Buddha’s disciples, who had come together to listen to his teachings. The faithful gather on the third day of the full moon of the third lunar month. While monks preach and say prayers inside, believers circle the temple with candlelight processions and flowers.
