It`s impossible to imagine the UNESCO City of Media Arts festival scene without it. Every spring the comic festival in Linz inspires with national and international comic art in all its forms. The festival is the only such event in Austria and one of the most important German-language comic book festivals. Visitors experience comics as a multifaceted medium. In addition to exhibitions, animated films, street art, readings, workshops, lectures, children’s books, school projects and much more besides. Parties and concerts (known as “nightlines”) are on the programme too.
Comic fans can discover the art exhibition throughout Linz during the festival days. Venues include the OÖ Kulturquartier (festival center), the Ars Electronica Center, the Grottenbahn am Pöstlingberg, and the Moviemento art-house cinema.
