Located directly opposite Lenin’s Mausoleum on the Red Square, it is today considered an important monument of Russian architecture. This is a great opportunity to pick a souvenir for your loved ones at home. Matryoshkas, for instance, the traditional smiling Russian dolls. They are colourfully painted and, in decreasing sizes, stackable inside one another. In winter, you can ice-skate in Gorky Park, where the winding paths are transformed into ice runways. Moscow’s famous leisure park is also a popular venue for open-air concerts.

After all that sightseeing, it’s high time for a breather. Preferably in one of the many restaurants or cafés. Visiting the Café Pushkin is a culinary highlight of any trip to Moscow. Here you will be served refined French and Russian cuisine. Sample the delicious borsch – the traditional soup prepared with beetroot and sour cream. And toast your business partners with a shot of vodka. By the way – Russians never say ‚Na zdorovye‘. That’s just an unfounded cliché.
